PHS Photo Contest Winners

Here they are—the winners of PHS’ Photo Contest!
These five top picks will grace the cover of PHS’ 2017 calendar!
This Photo Contest was a first for us. To be honest, we had not a clue what kind of response we would get.
But we soon found out. Minutes after our initial contest announcement, the very first photo showed up! And they kept on coming, right up to the deadline, thirty days later.
There were 80 entries in the PHS Photo Contest! They were sent in from all around Belize, and as far away as the United States and Canada, too!
You know how difficult it was to pick only five winners??!!
Each photo was a winner. The love of a pet guaranteed that.
Thank you, every single one of you, for spotlighting that special affection, that intimate bond you share with your pet.

Viewing each photo was a gift to us.

PHS Calendar Announcement

Some of you may understand this calendar, but for those of you who don’t, rest assured that PHS is making a 2017 calendar that everyone can grasp. And when you see all the great photos featured every month (yes, you or your pet may be in them!), this is the calendar you must own. It is in the making right now, hope to have it out for distribution/sales in September. PHS is really jazzed about this project–the four PHS board members working on it are having more fun than is legally possible13312792_10155953666946515_17500344005689169_n

Mango Tango

On 27 May, the thatch of Mango’s in Maya Beach shook with PHS’ last fundraiser of the year, the MANGO TANGO! Once again, our local businesses generously donated their services to benefit the pets in our community, and PHS raised BZ $2,047.50! And thanks to Frank, you big sweetheart you, who not only hosted the event, but donated BZ $300 to PHS! Get up close and personal with PHS’ board members. Yes, you elected them, and they serve as volunteers, each one of them. And why do they do this work without pay? They do it for love, that’s why. And it sure shows, doesn’t it!
