New Arrival

SKYLA

SKYLA IS STILL WAITING FOR YOU!!!! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE LADY…….

This young female was fostered by someone in a local village because she kept coming up to the gate and she realized she did not have a home!! She is a potlicker, but appears to have some Rottweiler in her mix. Her mom is also available (Sky), under separate post.

She has been spayed (no babies) and vaccinated.

Her foster would like you to know that she is very sweet and docile. She gets along with all dogs and shows no aggression at all. She lives with a little dog now. Not sure about kids or cats.

She is playful, but not hyper!! Very low Maintenance. She is great at guarding her home and when someone comes around will give a ‘deep bark”. She listens well and can focus but needs leash training as well as learning common commands.

She sleeps on the porch and would do best with a gated yard. She enjoys being outside BUT IS NOT TO BE CHAINED (per PHS standards). She is not afraid of thunder or lightning.

She ‘Self-Feeds” and grazes on her kibble during the day.

She will be a bit skittish at first until she is familiar with you and her new surroundings.

Foster is to move back to her home base in mid-end of October as her mission here in Belize will be completed.

If considering Skyla as your family pet, please fill out an application which is located on our Website: placenciahumanesociety.org; under “forms”

Each applicant will be reviewed for the best fit, so that this is a long-term placement for the sake of this beautiful girl.

Nubia

Nubia (NuNU) is her new name! Adaption still needed.

She is currently in foster care and will be spayed (no puppies) and vaccinated at our October clinic.

This girl needs a permanent home and family to call her very own!

Her foster tells us that she is the sweetest dog, and she just wants to be petted and loved. She can’t get enough of the human touch.

She isn’t sure where her home is and has a tendency to “bolt”. So, A 6 FT FENCED YARD IS A MUST!!

At no time is she to be CHAINED (Against PHS rules for adaption!)

As far as we know, she gets along very well with other dogs (both male & female). We don’t know about cats, so one would have to introduce slowly. We are not sure about children either, but her sweet disposition should help as long as they are gentle with her.

Don’t you want his precious girl to call your own?

If so, please fill out an adoption application on our Website: placenciahumanesociety.org, under “forms”.

We will review each application for the best fit. Thank you

Shiba

Let’s find a furever home for this beautiful female pot-licker, Shiba.

This 6 yo female was rescued by the foster when her owner went blind and had health complications and could no longer care for her.

Unfortunately, Shiba lived outside and had mange, tick fever, a UTI and was very malnourished. It was thought she also had heartworm but as it turned out, her repeat test turned out negative. She was treated and has fully recovered.

The foster would love to keep this beautiful animal, but they have too many dogs themselves.

She is spayed (cut) and is current on her vaccinations.

Foster states “Shiba is an absolute sweetheart and will bond to her human and just needs a little space and time to warm up. Once she feels safe and loved, she will be a devoted companion and protector.

She sleeps inside near their bed, is good with other dogs and kids (original owner had a little boy). She has had some exposure to a cat but this would need to be a careful introduction by adopter if there are cats in the home.

She is great on a leash and in fact, stays right next to her foster and often runs on the beach with her foster mom and dad!

At NO time is she to be CHAINED outside or allowed to run free!

  • Criteria for adoption:
  • All adopters must complete an Adoption Application found on placenciahumanesociety.org
  • Must agree to sign a contract regarding continuing monthly preventives such as flea/tick and heartworm medications and other standards regarding the welfare of the animal.
  • She must be an inside dog with walking on a leash or safely within a fenced yard.
  • She must receive yearly vaccinations and have a veterinarian for any emergencies and annual check ups.

A screenshot of the proposed place the dog will be kept needs to be forwarded with the adoption application. https://placenciahumanesociety.org/forms-documents/

Once applications are received, the best fit will be made.
